Prime Minister Modi visits Puducherry
It is the first time Prime Minister Modi is visiting Puducherry after assuming office. Paying a one-day visit on the occasion Auroville’s 50th anniversary celebrations. He had first met the Aurobindo Ashram in the union territory while making tribute to its founder and spiritual leader Sri Aurobindo.
A commemorative postage stamp was released on the occasion of Auroville’s golden jubilee. During his talk, PM Modi underlines that India has always been home to myriads of cultures and religions, praising Auroville’s philosophy as an example of ideoloigcal and cultural diversity to the world. Modi also highlights Mother of Aurobindo Ashram, Mirra Alfassa’s contributions to the field of education.
Accordingly, he released a practical guide book published by Sri Aurobindo International Institute of educational research. After meeting the International School of Education students, Modi will flag off the Run for New India Marathon in Gujarat.
