Sridevi passes away in Dubai after a massive heart attack
Bollywood industry expresses shock over the sudden death of legendary filmy star, Sridevi, following a massive heart attack in Dubai. The 54 years old who was last seen in the movie ‘Mom’, was attending the wedding of Mohit Marwah in UEA alongside her husband Boney Kapoor and daughter Khushi. The news has been confirmed by her brother in law, Sanjay Kapoor. Not much details have been leaked out so far.
Born as Shree Amma Yanger Ayyapan, Sridevi had worked in Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam and Kannada films before debuting in Hindi films. She started her career as a child artiste, and grew up to be one of the biggest female stars India ever had. Her first movie in Bollywood was back in 1978 with Solva Sawan and went on successfully with movies like Mr India, Chandini, Sadma, Chaalbaaz, Khuda Gawah and Judaai which happened to be her last movie before her wedding. Sridevi made a stunning return in 2012 with her much appreciated performance in English Vinglish. The government of India awarded her Padma Shri, the fourth highest civilian honour, in 2013.
Her last movie, Mom, a 2017 production of her husband, Boney Kapoor, was directed by Ravi Udyawar. Her other daughter Janhvi is set to make her Bollywood debut this year with Karan Johar’s directorial Dhadak.
