Dulquer Salmaan and Sonam Kapoor to star in ‘The Zoya factor’

Sonam Kapoor and Dulquer Salmaan are all set to hit the big screen for the screen adaptation of Anuja Chauhan’s best-selling novel, “The Zoya Factor”. The shooting is said to start in August this year

The movie is going to be directed by Abhishek Sharma, who has recently completed the drafting of the script. The book has various stages, characters and drama so it took a while for the writer, Neha Rakesh Sharma to pen down the screenplay and Pradhuman Singh to write the dialogues. Abhishek also mentioned that it was a big challenge for them to write the best script as it is a challenge when the book is a bestseller and fresh in the mind of people.

Abhishek said that Sonam was the first person who came to his mind as she was bubbly and would fit Zoya’s character perfectly. After watching “Neerja” he sent an autographed copy of the book to Sonam, for her to read. Sonam asked Aarti, her close friend, about the screen adaptation and readily agreed to work on the project.

It is a story based on superstitions and luck about cricket woven into a rom-com. Dulquer will play the role of Nikhil Khoda, who is the captain of the Indian cricket team in the film, and, Sonam plays the role of Zoya Singh Solanki, an advertising agent. For the film, Fox Star Studios is collaborating with Aarti and Pooja Shetty.

The film is set to release on 5th April, 2019.

Light pink is having its Gala time among the Bollywood brides

It seems that pink is the new black if the current Bollywood wedding trends are anything to go by. A lot of celeb brides are opting for the pastel pink shades rather than dazzling red ones these days.

The first celeb to glow in a pretty pink lehenga at her wedding was Mira Rajput in 2015 as she married Bollywood heartthrob Shahid Kapoor. The low-key pastel pink lehenga was striking with the matching maang teeka and passa. In her Anamika Khanna creation with zari and zardosi embroidery, the young bride looked stunning next to her handsome beau.

Anushka Sharma became the biggest trendsetter of the year in her Sabhyasachi pink lehenga that pretty much broke the internet during her nuptials to the cricketer, Virat Kohli. Her wedding attire has become one of the most desired outfits of this year’s wedding season and inspired similar outfits.

Most recently, Neha Dhupia has adopted this trend as she surprised the entire world with her sudden nuptials to model and actor, Angad Bedi. In a gorgeous pink Anita Dongre lehenga with coral pink and mint green embroidery, she looked like the definition of ‘blushing bride’.

Shahid Kapoor suffers a back injury and opts out of IIFA Awards 2018

Shahid Kapoor suffers a back injury and opts out of IIFA Awards 2018

It seems the International Indian Film Academy Awards will miss some major Bollywood star powers this year. It has already been reported that the three Khans – Salman, Shah Rukh and Aamir – will be giving the show a miss. Now it seems the young Kapoor has to drop his scheduled performance at the awards night.

While on sets in Tehri, Uttarakhand for his next film, Batti Gul Meter Chalu, Shahid Kapoor suffered an injury on his back. Despite his injury, he continued with the shooting and flew down to Mumbai a few days later. In Mumbai, while rehearsing a particularly tricky step for his dance number on the IIFA stage, he sustained a back spasm and was put on immediate bed rest and advised against strenuous activity.

Although he was scheduled to fly out to Bangkok, Thailand where the awards show is being held, he opted to stay in Mumbai and follow the doctor’s orders. The IIFA organizers were reportedly very considerate about the entire ordeal.

A similar situation happened to another actor who has had to cancel her appearance at the Awards show. Vaani Kapoor suffered a hamstring injury while practicing for her performance in Bangkok. Eventually she has opted to rest to regain her full health.

However the award show will hopefully be still as amazing with the other stars performing.
