Teenage girl abducted by a 21 year old man
Rajesh, a resident of Bapu Nagar was accused of kidnapping a 15 year old girl from his neighborhood on Saturday.
According to the police, On Saturday night, the accused borrowed his friend’s bike and forced the girl to accompany him to Panjagutta. Meanwhile, the victim’s family started looking for her upon realising their daughter was not at home. They also filed a police case to inform that their ward suddenly disappeared.
Rajesh’s friends inform the latter that the girl’s family was looking for her and was also enquiring about Rajesh’s whereabouts. He quickly abandoned the child at Punjagutta returned home posing innocent.
Later, the girl was found wandering towards Necklace road, by the police. She was shifted to Bharosa Centre and her family was informed. She returned home on Sunday safe and sound.
Based on the complaint, a case was registered against Rajesh under section 363 (kidnapping) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and the Prevention of Atrocities Act. The accused had been taken into custody and further investigation will be done.
In New Delhi only, 13 children go missing every day. The issue of child abduction is recurrent in India and still represents a huge issue.
