Arun Jaitley, away from office after diagnosed with kidney-related ailment
Finance Minister Arun Jaitley is suffering from a kidney malfunctioning disease and may have to undergo a possible surgery for transplant. The news was released officially on the Minister’s official Facebook and Twitter account.
As a consequence, his visit to London to attend the 10th India-UK Economic and Financial Dialogue had been cancelled. He confirmed his illness in a Twitter post, stating :
” I am being treated for kidney related problems and certain infections that I have contracted. I am therefore currently working from controlled environment at home. The future course of my treatment would be determined by the doctors treating me ”, says A. Jaitley.
The Minister of Finance has not been able to attend his office since Monday and was taken to All India Institute of Medical Science (AIIMS) for diagnosis tests.
He might soon be admitted to AIIMS according to the results and doctors’ advice. He is also prone to undergo a kidney transplant surgery which is likely to be performed by nephrologist Dr Sandeep Guleria from Apollo hospital.
Though the Minister has not been hospitalised yet, he is currently under house confinement to avoid contracting infections.
