Monsoon’s coming: Mumbai Airport main runway close for maintenance
Mumbai’s Airport main runway will be closed for two days for maintenance work before the start of monsoon. The aerodrome operator declared that flights shall be affected during those two days, six hours daily. The main runway closure 9/27 shall create inconveniences as some flights may be affected.
However, all necessary measures had been taken in order to minimise delays and to carry out maintenance works in due time. Mumbai International Airport Limited (MIAL) declared in a statement that the main runway of the Chhatrapati Shivaji International Airport will be non- operational from 9 April to 10 April, from 11:00 to 17:00.
Passengers have been requested to contact their respective airlines for any inquiry, said the MIAL. As from Wednesday 11 April, the Airport will resume business as usual.
Mumbai has the second busiest airport of India, runwat 9/27 can handle 48 arrivals and departures per hour.
