Sonu Sood’s Marathi warrior look in Manikarnika!
Period dramas have been gaining increasing popularity off late in Bollywood. We have had some spectacular films in the past that boast of a beautiful storyline and wonderful art production in this genre of historical dramas. Kangana Ranaut’s “Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi” will be the latest edition to historical dramas this year and the anticipation levels are high.
Buzz has been going around about Kangana’s look as Rani Laxmibai and Ankita Lokhande as Jalkaribai, as their looks were leaked online. Turns out that one more character’s look has been leaked to the social media fraternity, and it’s none other than that of Sonu Sood.
The actor will be reportedly playing Marathi warrior, Sadashivrao Bhau. He is a Maratha commander-in-chief and rival to the throne who died in the third Battle of Panipat against Ahmed Shah Abdali.
Sonu was seen in traditional Maratha warrior attire donning heavy jewellery and a pagadi. In order to do justice to his character, he had taken training in sword fighting and long action sequences from international fight choreographer, Nick Powell’s team. According to sources, in one sequence he was supposed to fight 70-80 men at the same time. The sequence was very difficult to shoot and had required several rehearsals, but Sonu nailed it.
