On April 30th Nigeria’s President Buhari will meet Trump at White House
Buhari Nigeria’s President will meet with United States President Donald Trump on 30th of April at the White House.
At the meeting Trump looks forward to discuss ways of combating terrorism, promoting economic growth and building Nigeria’s role as a democratic leader in West Africa, White House spokeswoman Sarah Sanders said in a statement Sunday.
Donald Trump called President Bulhari and then Jacob Zuma South Africa President, last year when he took office, inviting both of them to a mutually convenient date at Washington.
After alleging the African nations as “shitholes” in January, the US president has sought to improve his relation with the African government. He had to write a letter to the African Union informing them that he “profoundly respects” the United States’ partnership with Africa.
The Secretary of State Rex Tillerson, one of Trump’s top diplomats was sent on a visit in March to affirm the US partnership across the continent. However due to Tillerson fired from the white house, the trip was cut short.
