INDIA : A peacock dies, unable to bear merciless physical stretching during selfies
The crowd practically tormented the national bird of the country until death.
Sadly, the interest that a peacock aroused in the streets of the Indian city of Jalpaiguri had fatal consequences for the beautiful bird.
The pedestrians who were then present in the centre of this city in the state of West Bengal, practically went crazy when they saw a specimen of the national bird of India walking in the Jalpaiguri area. Many of them began to take pictures with the peacock, considered as one of the most majestic creatures since time immemorial.
Tempted by the desire to get the best possible selfie, passers-by, one after another, pulled the legs of the animal and grabbed it by her feathers to unfold the tail, which is shaped like a polychrome fan when it is open. Gradually, the bird was suffering severe physical atrocities.
Finally the police managed to disperse the crowd surrounding the peacock, but, unfortunately, the latter could not endure the mistreatment and died a few minutes later.
Police is investigating on what caused the death of the lovely bird. The dead body was handed over to the defenders of the rights of the fauna. According to animal rights activists, the lack of care towards animals is becoming an alarming trend…
