Salman Khan all set to launch his own chain of theaters
The king of Box Office hits, Salman Khan has decided to venture into the distributor and exhibitor space this year with his film “Race 3”. The actor plans to establish his own chain of theaters soon with the project entitled “Salman Talkies”. The work has been in the works for the past two years but was delayed due to some reasons. “I had a lot of plans for the theater chain but it’s taking me longer because I need to be very careful. There are a lot of logistical details involved so that the project doesn’t shut down. But let me clarify, the theaters will not be in Bandra or Juhu, but on the outskirts of Mumbai” has Salman been quoted.
Salman wants to increase the footfall of his movies, and evidently make his Box Office hits even bigger since he believes there are not many theaters available to the village areas on the outskirts of Mumbai. In his theater chain, the tickets will be tax free, therefore available at subsidized rates and free for children from underprivileged areas.
Salman plans to inaugurate each theater himself. For his upcoming venture, he has spoken to a lot of distributors and exhibitors to gain insight on the workings of that particular aspect of the film industry.
The theater chain is expected to kickoff in Maharashtra before spreading all over India. A project which surely many will appreciate coming from the Bhai.
