India: Five-year multiple visa for “freedom fighters and elderly Bangladeshi nationals”

Under a Revised Travel Arrangement (RTA) 2018, elderly Bangladeshi nationals as well as freedom fighters will have a five-year multiple visa from India.

Indian home minister, Rajnath Singh, who is in Bangladesh for a three day visit, signed the RTA agreement with counterpart Asaduzzaman Khan in Dhaka.

This measure will ease visa restrictions between citizens of  Bangladesh. During his short visit, Singh and Khan were major figures in the 6th Home Minister Level Talks between the two countries. He also had talks with Sheik Hasina, Prime Minister of Bangladesh.
