Minister Manju Verma submited her resignation letter on Wednesday following the Sex shelter scandal. Her husband was accused of visiting the Muzaffarpur shelter home regularly.
Media reported that her husband had telephonic conversation with Brajesh Thakur, main accused in the shelter home sexual abuse of minor girls, 17 times this year.

The man behind Muzaffarpur shelter home, Brajesh Thakur, maintained that all charges made against him are politically motivated given that he was about to join the Congress Party and was about to contest elections from Muzaffarpur seat.
Thakur, responsible of the NGO who run the shelter home situated next to his residence at Sahu road in Muzaffarpur, was arrested on June 2 in connection with the “physical and sexual abuse” of 34 minor girls living there.
