Sarah Sanders, secretary at the White House confirmed that Trump has received an invitation to visit India and this is being considered by the administration and the President.
It is now being confirmed by various sources that India and the US are in touch on an invitation send by Delhi’s office to US President Donald Trump to visit the country. The date, time and occasion of the possible trip are under consideration by both parties. Prime Minister Narendra Modi had personally invited President Trump for a bilateral visit to India during their talks in Washington in June 2017, according to media reports.
Trump could have been the chief guest for the Republic Day celebrations but this can’t happen. However, India has extended the invitation for any other date to the US President as it is considered as a major boost to ties the relation between the two strategic partners in key areas of defence, security and trade.
