Independence day...Modi promises to free India from this disgusting mentality of rape
Modi: " We are very proud of what we have achieved but we should not forget where we have come from"

Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed the nation for the fifth time since his party came into power, on 72nd anniversary of India’s Independence today. Modi promised to free the country from this disgusting mentality of rape. India should rise as a great nation and needs to show the way to the entire world to unshackle the bonds added Modi.

Addressing to the nation, Modi thanks all those women and men who sacrificed themselves for the nation during the fight for freedom movement. “On behalf of the people of India, I bow to all those great women and men…next year on Vaisakhi, it will be the 100th anniversary of the massacre in Jallianwala Bagh. I remember the martyrs of the country in this massacre and pay my respect to them .”

He states that  a lot of progress had been made since 2013 and that people will be surprised to know the speed at which the country is progressing. ““Prior to 2014, several of the world’s acclaimed organizations and economists used to term India as ‘high-risk economy’, they are now praising us for our reforms. We are very proud of what we have achieved but we should not forget where we have come from. That is when we will realize the unbelievable strides the nation has taken.”

The voice of India should now be heard at world stage, says Modi.

“India is now the land of reform, perform and transform.”

Commenting the implementation of Abhiyaan on the 25th of September 2018, he said it is high time that the government ensure that the poor of India gets access to good quality and affordable healthcare. “The healthcare initiatives of the Government of India will have a positive impact on 50 crore Indians. It is essential to ensure that we free the poor of India from the clutches of poverty due to which they cannot afford healthcare”, Modi quotes, reports Times of India.

The Prime Minister says his government is focus on bringing changes in the agricultural sector by introducing new technology and the target is to double farmer incomes by 2022.

Modi also has a few words to say on the practice of Triple Talaq, caused of injustice among Muslim women. He said he is trying to end this practice but face resistance. ““I ensure the Muslim women that I will work to ensure justice is done to them.”

Commenting recent amendments to law and recent abuse of girls in India, his speech was direct. “We have to free our society and country from this disgusting mentality of rape. Recently in Madhya Pradesh a rapist was hanged by fast track court. We should spread this news and make people aware. Rule of law is supreme, no one can take law in their hands.”

The Prime Minister had a thought for the families of those who lost their lives due to floods in various parts of India. He also promised to put a human in space by 2022.
