Sridevi’s family tears up at her birthday screening in Delhi
Boney Kapoor, Janhvi and Khushi Kapoor attended the event and were unable to hold back their tears.

One of India’s most beloved stars, Sridevi, passed away early this year while attending a wedding in Dubai. On her 55th birth anniversary – and the first posthumous – the late actress was remembered at a special screening of her iconic film Mr. India at Film Divisions in New Delhi.

Boney Kapoor, Janhvi and Khushi Kapoor attended the event and were unable to hold back their tears as Sridevi was fondly remembered. Boney Kapoor, especially, got very emotional as he spoke about his late wife and their life together. “My love story with Sridevi is an open book. Whatever matters of the heart that can be shared is all in the public domain. What is most close (about her) will remain in the heart. That’s my support system for life,” he said.

He also revealed that Arjun and Anshula, his children from his first wife, have been a strong support. “The way they have accepted Janhvi and Khushi… That has made me feel very relieved. My all four children are my strength. Today this vacuum, this void cannot be replaced but the good wishes and the goodwill that she has left behind is something that we can live with… She is with me, in my memories… with my children,” the family couldn’t hold back their tears as Boney Kapoor spoke about Sridevi’s passing.

Sridevi made a special mark in the Indian film industry with iconic roles and was also awarded with a Padma Shree for her impeccable contribution to her art.
