A crowd ripped off her clothes, thrashed and paraded her naked in full public view. All along, she pleaded her innocence on being the murderer of a boy, aged 19, but no one came to her rescue in Bhojpur district. Finally police had to open fire to disperse the crowd to save the woman.
This incident took place on Monday morning following the death of a local youth, Bimlesh Sao, aged 19. His body was found on a railway track at Bihiya town, some 25 km from Ara, district headquarters of Bhojpur. The teenager who came from the village of Damodarpur was strangled to death and his body thrown on the railway track to cover up the murder.
First, they started vandalising shops and vehicles, threw stones at trains passing on the track before they get a hold of the woman living in the red-light area of Bihiya town. She was thrashed and paraded naked.
The police had to open fire to disperse the mob and took the woman into custody before being taken to hospital. She is actually under police protection.
Police confirm having arrested 15 people including seven policemen for dereliction of duty and the leader of Rashtriya Janata Dal.
