Judge Nisha Gupta awards death sentence to two rapists today under section 376 AB of the Indian Penal code. On June 26, Asif and Irfan lured the girl while she was waiting for her father outside her school. They took her to an isolated location, raped her and tried to kill her by slitting her throat. One and half month later, they had been judged and sentenced to death.
When the girl was found that, she had suffered grievous injuries to her neck, face, head and private parts. She stayed days in ICU at Maharaja Yeshwantrao Hospital and was after helped by psychiatrists to recover from the trauma. Her family must be relief now after judge Nisha Gupta finds the two predators guilty and applies the maximum penalty for both rapists.
Irfan alias Bhaiyu (20) and Asif (24) were arrested and judged under the relevant sections of the IPC and the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act. The act was committed in Mandsaur and according to reports, it is the 13th death penalty in sexual offences in Madhya Pradesh.
Evidences were clearly against both men. The CCTV camera footage, the DNA found in the girl’s vaginal swabs, the pubic hair of the two accused were also found on the crime spot and the girl’s blood on accused Irfan’s clothes.
Definitely no way out for the rapists and the verdict proves that the war against rapists is on in India.
