A total of 20 people were rushed to KEM Hospital but three men and one woman, age 62, were declared dead on arrival

A fire broke out at the 12th floor of the 17 storeyed Crystal Tower Building, situated in Parel Mumbai today at around 8 am(local time). Four people were killed and several injured.

A total of 20 people were rushed to KEM Hospital but three men and one woman, age 62, were declared dead on arrival, according to media reports. It is also confirmed that the fire-fighting system was not working and electric duct also was not sealed at each floor.

Earlier cranes were used to rescue some of those trapped on top floors

The fire spread quickly to the upper floors and flats in this residential building in Dadar area.

Fire fighters managed to bring the fire under control. The cause of the fire is yet to be known.
