Refugees returning home greeted by crocodile and snakes in Kerala
At Chalakudiy district, one man who returned home on Monday was greeted by a new friend, a crocodile.

People returning to their flood homes from relief camps in Kerala are being welcomed by snakes and other reptiles and insects in some districts. Mustafa, the snake catcher, has caught over 100 snakes from these homes.

After the floods, people in Kerala who left their homes to take refuge in relief camps are returning back to check the condition of their houses. But some had already new occupants mainly in Thirssur. Mustafa, the snake catcher urged people who are returning to clean their houses to be careful and not put their hands into shoes or under cracked tiles. Up to now, around 50 people had been treating snakebites in hospital.

The Kerala government confirmed that adequate anti-venom drugs have been provided at all the affected places to fight the snakes.

At Chalakudiy district, one man who returned home on Monday was greeted by a new friend, a crocodile. But with the helps of neighbours, he managed to catch the crocodile and bound it with ropes.
