Infections due to water and vector-borne diseases have increased in Kerala. Fifty persons died due to communicable diseases two weeks after the rain had stopped.
Kerala population face another crisis. Six of the 50 people who died are confirmed cases of leptospirosis whereas 34 are suspected to have of the same disease. Nine people died of fever report Times of India.
It had also been confirmed that more than 100 people suffered from dengue and 50 from malaria. People in the affected area are being told to take dosage of doxycycline.
