3 JeM terrorists killed in an Encounter in J&K’s Reasi district

Every now and then there are reports of terrorists crossing the border of India and entering the nation. 3 terrorists of the pro-Pakistan JeM (Jaish-e-Muhammad) were killed in an encounter with the Indian security forces in the Reasi district of Jammu and Kashmir.

During a search operation, the security forces comprising of CRPF forces, police and army men located a house in Reasi district where the terrorists were hiding and surrounded them. A day before, these terrorists had fired on the police party and had escaped. The security forces made use of drones and choppers in this encounter for tracking and knowing the whereabouts of these terrorists.

The terrorists of the Jaish-e-Muhammad, most of them between the age group 18-22 had crossed the international border and reached Kashmir in a truck.

Deputy Superintendent of Police Mohan Lal along with the six CRPF personnel, deputy commandant, the assistant commandant, five other policemen and an armyman were injured during this encounter who was later admitted to a nearby hospital.

On 12.09.2018 at about 08hr05 hours, during checking by flying squad of police at Domail on highway, police party signalled a truck bearing No. JK03-1476, which was on its way from Jammu to Srinagar to stop. In the meantime, three terrorists who were on board the said truck opened fire (sic).

The cordon and search operation was carried out to track down the terrorists after they opened fire at the security personnel on the Jammu-Srinagar National Highway Wednesday and fled away into the forest.The truck in which the terrorists had arrived was seized later on and one AK-56 rifle, loaded magazines and a Chinese pistol were recovered from the location.

Before the encounter operation started all the residents nearby and the people visiting the Vaishno devi shrine were alerted and a lookout notice was issued through social media and mass media. During the encounter the traffic movement between Nagrota and Jhajjar-Kotli, was suspended.The check posts on the highway are been checked strictly in order to avoid any untoward incident.

All the Indian security forces have been fighting relentlessly for years to keep India free from such infiltrators and terrorists who are a threat to the nation’s safety.
