Just a week ago, a CBSE topper girl from Haryana was abducted from a bus stop while she was on her way to coaching class. She was allegedly drugged and gang-raped by three men, one of which was an army man. A week ago the girl was honored by the president of India after she had topped the CBSE board exam. Raids have been conducted by the Haryana police to nab the accused who are still absconding.
A Senior Police officer has been transferred after a delay in taking action against the Rewari gang-rape case. The victim’s family alleged that the police has failed to take prompt action. After two successive rape cases, women’s safety is at stake in Haryana.
