BJP MP Faces Flak After His Party Worker Washes His Feet and Drinks That Water! Some politicians in India are treated like gods. Their party workers treat them with so much respect which they actually don’t deserve.
In a shocking incident, BJP MP Nishikant Dubey and one of his party worker were criticized and slammed by the trollers after a video went viral on social media. This incident took place when Dubey was attending the stone laying ceremony of one of the bridges across the Kajhia river in the Godda district of Jharkhand which is the constituency of the MP.
After the BJP leader finished his speech one of the local party worker named Pawan Shah brought a brass thali (a form of a vessel), sat near the BJP MP, washed his feet, and later on he drank the same water.
This incident was filmed by the bystanders and the BJP MP also uploaded the video on his Facebook account but soon deleted it after he was lashed out by people. Many people were outraged by this incident and termed this as a shameful act.
What a shameful act it was. What has happened to people? They are considering a person as God. Shame on people & MP Nishikant Dubey. https://t.co/2vHlTfpbCi

Nishikant Dubey later defended his party worker through a Facebook post saying that the people trolling him and his party worker don’t understand the faith and love his supporters shower him with.
He also said that his loyal party worker drank the water because he had a lot of respect for the BJP MP and did it out of sheer happiness, he also said that it was a customary practice in Jharkhand to honor the guest by washing their feet.
“Is washing feet of your guest wrong? Ask your ancestors.
In Mahabharat, Krishnaji had also washed the feet. I am ashamed of such a mentality,” he said in his Facebook post. Dubey has landed himself into a controversy after giving such a statement and his Facebook post also received a lot of criticism.
Pawan Shah, the party worker who washed the feet didn’t find anything unusual and threatened political parties and media if they further publicized this issue. “There is nothing unusual; I did it out of respect as I consider Nishikant Bhaiya as my God,” said Shah.
Following this incident, the opposition parties including Congress and BSP slammed the BJP MP by quoting “arrogance of BJP leaders have reached the zenith.”
