A mini-truck driver, Rajan Singh, 34, tried to run away from a spot where he crushed a girl to death while reversing his vehicle. But he failed to negotiate a sharp turn on the Azadpur loop of Ring Road, lost control of his vehicle, crashed and was killed on the spot.
During the first accident, three people were injured. A school girl, Kanchan had fractured her backbone fractured and she is battling for her life actually. Her classmate was also injured. A labourer Umesh too suffered fractures, but his injuries are not life-threatening. After the accident, the truck driver sped away but six-seven motorcyclists, who had witnessed the accident, gaving him a chase. This incident happened at 14h on Wednesday in Mukundpur Chowk, Delhi’s most accident-prone zone.
Singh drove for around half-a-kilometre on Outer Ring Road on the Azadpur loop. He travelled the entire loop, but failed to negotiate a sharp turn at the end of it.
When a police team arrived at the spot, a mob was preparing to torch the truck but police prevented them and towed the truck away.
