Yash Raj Films’ latest action-drama ‘Thugs of Hindostan’ has miserably failed at box office. And Mr Perfectionist Aamir Khan has taken the ‘full responsibility’ of the failure. Aamir at an event finally spoke about the film. He said, “ I think we went wrong and I would like to take full responsibility for that. We tried very hard to make a good film and we didn’t hold back from putting in our entire effort, but somewhere or the other we went wrong. There are people who have liked the film and we are thankful to them, but they are in a minority. Most people didn’t like the film — we are aware of that.”
The actor who is still coping with the film’s failure also apologised to the audience for not being up to the mark. “The audience, which came with so much expectation to watch my film, I want to apologise to them also that this time I couldn’t entertain them. I am feeling bad that we weren’t able to entertain them.” “Audience is free to say what they feel about the film. What I can say is that we certainly tried our level best and I am feeling really bad that we didn’t succeed in entertaining the audience. So, next time we will try harder.” added the 53-year-old actor.
The ‘3 Idiots’ actor was speaking at the award ceremony of Cinestaan India’s Storytellers Contest. Also called Mr Perfectionist, Aamir is known for his eye for details. The actor always puts extra efforts for his role and never leave any stone unturned to make it a perfect film. That is the reason why most of his films are a grand success. Even a few of his films are entitled as the highest grossing films of Bollywood.
But unfortunately, ‘Thugs of Hindostan’ despite having the biggest banner and Aditya Chopra as producer failed at the box office. Even the megastar Amitabh Bachchan, Katrina Kaif and talented Fatima Sana Sheikh couldn’t help save the ship from sinking.
Now the film will be released in China and the actor is looking forward to it with crossed fingers.
