The wedding fever of Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh has caught the entire world in an excitement that everyone can’t get over. Taking the eagerness further ahead, Deepika Padukone unveiled her wax statue called the Statue of Purpose at Madame Tussauds’ museum in London on Thursday 14 March. The event was attended by her husband Ranveer Singh, and her parents.
The wax statue is a reproduction of Deepika’s IIFA Awards 2016 look in Madrid when was dressed in a champagne coloured cape lehenga by ace designer Sabyasachi Mukherjee. The detailing done in the statue is just perfect – from her earrings to her necklace. Announcing her wax statue last year in July, Deepika had said in a video, “It’s fun, exciting and in a way I feel a lot of gratitude because you know when you give your fans a little more than just the movies, then it’s really, really special. I hope they enjoy it as much as we enjoy creating it.”
Madame Tussauds London already has wax figures of Bollywood personalities like Amitabh Bachchan, Salman Khan, Katrina Kaif and that of Priyanka Chopra was recently included. Deepika’s wax figure is being created by renowned artists.
On the work front, Deepika was last seen in Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Padmaavat which proved to be a milestone in her career. She has now begun work on Meghna Gulzar’s Chhapaak where she essays the role of an acid attack survivor a role inspired by Laxmi Agarwal.
