A heavily armed Pakistani Intruder was killed in an encounter by the Indian army along the international border in the Akhnoor sector of Jammu and Kashmir. The unidentified intruder was killed by an ambush team somewhere around 1:50 pm. The terrorists setup a nefarious plan of derailing the peace and harmony by disrupting the J&K Panchayat polls.
The Indian army recovered a huge arsenal of arms and ammunition from the terrorists which included two assault rifles along with two magazines, 234 rounds of bullets, five pistols with 10 magazines and 60 rounds, 15 hand grenades and 12 fuses for the improvised explosive devices. The entire area has been cordoned off to search and destroy, an operation is underway. The Indian Army has been relentlessly carrying robust anti-infiltration operations in order to the break the backbone of terrorism in Jammu and Kashmir.
Devender Anand, the Jammu-based Army PRO said “The timely intercept of the intrusion of the terrorists with the cache of arms, ammunition and other war like stores has thwarted any possible untoward incident, planned by the terrorist during the scheduled elections in the state”.
In the past week, Indian army has lost three soldiers and three Border Security Force (BSF) Personnel to the Pakistani sniper attacks on the Line of Control. The killings came ahead of the Panchayat polls in Jammu and Kashmir which is starting on November 17.
