Inside Cooking Ep 10: Beer Batter

This classic beer batter is perfect for making homemade onion rings or for deep-frying fish, chicken and calamari, as well as all kinds of deep-fried. Very easy to do, the beer batter will guarantee a crispy and golden brown exterior. Yummy and great!

Ingredients (for 8 persons)

1 cup all-purpose flour
1 egg, beaten
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon paprika
1 1/2 cups beer

(Preparation time: 5 mins, cooking time: 5 mins)

Combine the egg and beer in a large bowl.

In a separate bowl, combine the flour, salt, garlic powder, black pepper and paprika.

Add the flour to the beer mixture and gently poke at it with a fork until you have a loose, floppy batter with plenty of lumps. Don’t stir, whisk, or mix!
